This week, your goal is simply to listen differently.

As you listen to your favorite songs, see if you can identify the three basic ingredients that make up almost every song:

• Chords

• Strum Pattern (Rhythm)

• Smooth Chord Transitions

Don't worry about playing them yet. Just begin training your ear to recognize these three building blocks.

Start hearing songs as a combination of chords, rhythm, and transitions. Once you recognize these three ingredients, learning songs becomes much simpler.
